Wouldn't ngen.exe crash instead then? But I wouldn't necessarily expect it to crash, if the JIT compilation is different enough from the native image generator. –Chris W. Visual Studio (at least for me) isn't really handy to debug crashes, you'll better get a dump so we can try to look at the possible causes. Since mscorsvw.exe is a service, this doesn't really affect it. If so, I think using System Restore to roll back to a point before the trouble started would be the way to go here. some small stuff that is left to dev's own choosing.
