This is a standalone PC and I assume I have permissions on all folders. These are pointers to the tmp/temp directories. Maxtors are very unreliable, I'm surprised you have an old one. but I've seen some incorrect jumper settings cause strange performance like that. I really appreciate it.I copied the Setup.exe and Setup.ins from the CD to the central workstation and was able to install the SQL properly.
