Thanks. It prompts for a password then just seems to hang. Apparently this works because the MAC address is used as part of the receipt/authorization process. Not sure why this happened, but it fixed it for me. Apple disclaims any and all liability for the acts, omissions and conduct of any third parties in connection with or related to your use of the site. I've contacted Apple support and they said I should remove the whole com.apple.appstore folder and try logging in again, but that didn't help either. Open iTunes, go to the iOS App Store and download a random free app Once downloaded, you can delete it and then open up the Mac App Store.

The problem only appears to be on one of the iMacs. What ended up working was signing out, clicking "Store -> Create New Account", accepting the Terms and Conditions, then canceling out of new account creation and signing in again.
