I tried to type different boot flags, such as -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1 maxmem=4096 but this not work. I'm attempting to install Yosemite in a HP Pavilion dv6-6b02ss. Then if it works you can make the change permanent by editing the grub config file (/boot/grub/grub.conf?). Would anyone know, by any chance, what this option does - or what it stops the OS from doing? Also, the occur evenly on CPU0 and CPU1. Upgrading the BIOS is not the answer. You can't conquer the universe without the knowledge of FORTRAN3.

Maybe there is no general solution, and it's not really a BIOS problem (at least not only, though it might be for some) and all those "solutions" are workarounds for linux Would my installation be affected after Ido that?
