June 2006 19:38 Ok... Funny thing is (actually, not so funny) this thing has been working fine using 'localhost' for two or three years now, and all the sudden, I don't have permission. I have not updated/upgraded wamp in well over a year. nothing... ??? his comment is here
I do agree that this is difficult. June 2006 17:11 when i do what you said i´ll get Error 403 Access denied my httpd-vhosts file looks like this: Code: Select all# Use name-based virtual hosting.
June 2006 15:06 yes i have a .htaccess file with my error 401 and error 404 info in the htdocs folder but i have a lot .htaccess files inte other folders That did the trick. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. without a restart the new code would not take any effect –Rhythem Aggarwal Dec 1 '14 at 16:22 Thank you. ethereal1m@ethereal1m 0 likesBy ethereal1m 2489 days agoI got it, I forgot to clear up the database so that the previous configuration was persistent elgg_noob@elgg_noob 0 likesBy elgg_noob 2453 days agoI'm seeing I'm running Windows Vista, 64-bit.
Why did companions have such high social standing? I have verified that Apache runs as "System" on my computer and then made sure all permissions from the site folder to root are set to Full Access for the user/group On our server with a previous version of xampp, things work properly. https://www.apachelounge.com/viewtopic.php?t=59 Back to top SteffenModeratorJoined: 15 Oct 2005Posts: 2405Location: Hilversum, NL, EU Posted: Fri 16 Dec '05 17:44 Post subject: Did you try to remove the root directive for the server: DocumentRoot

I'd add the file if it wasn't too much of 'secret' stuff included. Modern soldiers carry axes instead of combat knives.
That's the way Microsoft works. Thanks again.Re: Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Under Windows XP the file had apparently been ignored, but now on Windows 8.1 it was being used and interfering. suppose the url of the page is http://serenity/htdocs/social/elgg1.6.1/ and it automatically brings it to the login page.
If yes, then this typically is a case of Xampp's changed security policy , assuming that while upgrading to windows 8.1 you upgraded your xampp to a newer version too. However, I cannot pinpoint where and how to grant this access. thanksReplies kaninglamig@kaninglamig 0 likesBy kaninglamig 2490 days agoif your on windows maybe THIS can give you a hint ;-) ethereal1m@ethereal1m 0 likesBy ethereal1m 2490 days [email protected],the page you are referring talks check over here Posted by: banuka.vikas (115.240.35.---)Date: April 29, 2013 03:22PMtjzorder Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> I am having "Forbidden>> You don't have permission to access / on this> server." when i am trying to open php myadmin...

Posted by: newdaydre (---.telwestnet.net)Date: April 30, 2013 09:18PMThank you. I am using the same vhost / .htaccess files on both but it works on my Mac and not Windows. Yes, 127.0.0.1 works, and I checked the hosts file (it had the correct entry) and made the suggested change to the httpd.conf. I'm not really sure but I'll continue to look at it.
